Raghavan Sasankan, is one of the senior most journalists reporting on India’s petroleum sector. Basically an economic journalist with 30 years standing in the profession, Sasankan began reporting on petroleum sector in March 1981 for The Economic Times, India’s foremost economic daily.
He served the paper for more than 10 years and has umpteen impact making stories. Later, he joined Indian Express and The Times of India as Special Correspondent. Re-joined Indian Express to head its economic Bureau for over four years and from there he went to The Telegraph where he was associate editor for close to six years. In 1989, he visited Petroleum Intelligence weekly office in New York and on their advice reported on Indian developments to its Singapore office for about five years. He was Indian correspondent since 1985 for the Hong Kong based Asian Oil & Gas which was edited by Andrew Burns.
