August 15, 2026: Indraprastha Gas Ltd (IGL), the country’s largest city gas distributor, reported a 44 per cent year-on-year (Y-o-Y) decline in consolidated net profit to ₹2.38 billion for April-June quarter (Q1) of FY26-27 (FY27) as high and volatile liquefied natural gas (LNG) prices affected margins amid ongoing West Asia crisis.
However, the company’s total income grew 16.5 per cent Y-o-Y to ₹51.45 billion in FY27 from ₹44.16 billion in the year-ago period.
“The overall sales volume grew 6 per cent over the corresponding quarter in 2025-26, with the average daily sale going up from 9.13 million standard cubic meter per day (mmscmd) to 9.66 mmscmd during this period, which is again the highest ever recorded by the company,” IGL said in a statement.
