August 19, 2026: Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited has commissioned new gas evacuation facilities at Khoraghat GGS-1 in Golaghat district, Assam.
The move allows surplus associated natural gas from the Upper Assam Shelf to flow into the North East Gas Grid.
The grid is operated by Indradhanush Gas Grid Limited.
Key Benefits for the Region
Nearly one lakh standard cubic metres of gas per day from ONGC’s Jorhat asset can now be utilised instead of being flared.
This step reduces wastage and strengthens the local gas supply.
The development builds on the recent commissioning of the Dergaon–Dimapur Pipeline.
That pipeline has linked Nagaland to both the North East Gas Grid and the wider National Gas Grid.
